Powerful solutions for IP-based DTT delivery

Cable Market

A typical network overview

Superior performance

Appear TV offers totally flexible solutions for digital terrestrial television operators utilizing IP or other transmission standards to feed DTT transmitter towers with video and audio signals.

A modular approach means a maximum number of input, processing, and output possibilities can be achieved. Inputs include a choice of IP, satellite (DVB-S/S2), DVB-T, DVB-C and ASI. In addition, both CSA and AES scrambling is supported, enabling operators to maximize the value of their content with either local or central scrambling.

Appear TV head-ends are powerful processing machines that offer high capacity multiplexing and streaming of both SPTS and MPTS. Up to 250 services can be multiplexed on one IP or ASI output, which also offers powerful PSI/SI regeneration and generation possibilities. Together with its intuitive management interface, the solution is very attractive from an operational point of view, allowing customers to maximize their content sources and IP backbone functionality.

With the use of a unique redundancy feature network performance can be optimized to ensure unparalleled service availability including redundancy and load sharing between head-ends, as well as back up between units located at the same site.

Delivering mobile content

Appear TV equipment is designed to integrate easily with third party DVB-T and DVB-H modulators, encapsulators, and content servers. The power and flexibility of Appear TV solutions mean that they are also ideally suited to DTT operators looking to extend their revenue base to mobile handheld devices alongside their DVB-T networks.

Inserting local TV content and advertizing

Using Appear TV head-ends, digital terrestrial TV operators can also feed an IP or cable network with content from multiple sources. Where local content is available on terrestrial networks, Appear TV offers the perfect solution for converting COFDM signals into IP and transmitting them to other locations.

Monitoring

High density IRDs make Appear TV solutions perfect for COFDM or IP network signal monitoring.
