Appear TV, a global provider of next-generation head-ends for broadcast and IP
television, today launches a DVB-S/S2 modulator designed to modulate SD/HD
services on to satellite. This high density modulator is able to produce up to 2
DVB-S or DVB-S/2 modulated channels concurrently. This will help operators
make more efficient use of their available bandwidth – in some cases by up to
30%.

at IBC 2010 that will help network operators to automatically populate their
Electronic Programme Guides (EPGs). As channel bouquets grow, operators have
an increasingly complex task to ensure that their on-screen programme guide is
always up to date.

Appear TV, a global provider of next-generation head-ends for broadcast and IP
television, today launches a DVB-T/T2 modulator for SD and HD terrestrial
streams. Appear TV’s full frequency agile and high density modulator module is
capable of producing up to 4 DVB-T or 2 DVB-T2 modulated channels. Several of
these modules can be fitted into a chassis. The product provides broadcasters
with the flexibility to transmit SD and HD services on different PLPs (Physical
Layer Pipes) as well as varying the Forward Error Correction (FEC) and bit rate
parameters for each PLP.

African satellite broadcaster MultiChoice Africa (Pty) Ltd, of its SC2000 head-end
equipment. This project enables MultiChoice to extend the reach of its DStv
services to a greater number of commercial outlets across South Africa and the
wider African continent.
